Just like the old bumper sticker used to say (paraphrased), “Climate Change Happens”.We don’t exactly know why yet, on account of us not having been here on this marble all that long of a time. We know that the climate has changed a lot in the past. We can presume that it will continue to do so in the future. Beyond that you move from the realm of climate into politics. The best advice I can give you is to figure out what the political persuasions of your teacher are and write your essay so that it plays into that hand. It’s a sad way to get a good grade, but at least it’s better than plagiarism.Hope you weren’t planning on a Nobel Prize.

-intro on climate change.-cause of climate change.-effect on climate change.finally end with what can be done to prevent climate change.

  3. paige says:

Climate changes occur naturally in response to a multitude of triggers, With or without you and in spite of you. Tell your liberal teachers, the NEA, Al Gore, the U.N. etc. to stop being so vain and stop teaching kids that they can vainly combat something that they have no control over. In short, the ice age we have been in for almost 3 million years has to end sometime, global warming is inevitable, whether you do anything or not.I hope that this question is not an example of your essay writing skills.

  4. cordoning says:

Ice ages occur in about 100,000 year cycles.Changes in the eccentricity of the earth’s orbit are the driving factor. When the orbit is very eccentric, an ice age occurs.when the orbit is more circular, we have an inter-glacial.that’s what’s happening now, and it will be a few thousand years before we can expect natural causes to drive the climate toward a new ice age.

You could start by saying: “GlobaL Warming is a bogus political myth and here’s why”…

See the August 2008 Awake magazine published by Jehovah’s Witnesses (we have informative articles on a variety of subjects, with source references cited). Just call a Kingdom Hall near you and someone should be able to help you find it.

  7. conceptionist says:

try and research on the topic, start with a quote by some famous author/poet eg william wordsworth.his poems are usually about the nature etc. you can start with a poem,u could search it on the net. you could ask a question like-what is climate change & so on.you can make a collage on it,if u can & show it to your class/teacher etc./

IS IT HOT IN HERE OR IS IT JUST ME?

  9. puckle says:

First off do your own scientific research and ignore anything that the media had to say about the issue. I think this climate change thing is all about controlling the masses anyway.

  10. geophysical says:

You could talk about global warming, oh,yea,I forgot they changed it to “climate change”. Well my climates been changing alot around here, One day it’s rainin, and boom the next thing you know it’s sunny again and a beautiful day. Honey listen I know that their something to how the world’s changing but really I think theres bigger fish to fry. Sorry couldn’t resist!

Historically, global warming, and cooling occur naturally.Ice ages occur in about 100,000 year cycles.Changes in the eccentricity of the earth’s orbit are the driving factor. When the orbit is very eccentric, an ice age occurs.when the orbit is more circular, we have an inter-glacial.that’s what’s happening now, and it will be a few thousand years before we can expect natural causes to drive the climate toward a new ice age. [external link] …Here’s the bigger version of the graph.Note how ice age cycles line up with eccentricity cycles. [external link] …This time it’s different. And here’s why. [external link] … <== here’s the science. [external link] … <== This is an hour long, but is very good.

  12. presupply says:

Start with this:”What happened to global warming? This question may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998. But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.”

  13. timbern says:

First, ignore the ignorant yahoos and religious crazies who infest the global-warming board here.Second, to make sure that you really understand the science, spend some time reading these National Academy of Sciences documents: [external link] … and [external link] … You will find plenty of engaging ideas as to how to start off your essay. Also, check out this Scientific American article about a paper that was just published in the prestigious peer-reviewed journal Science: [external link] …You can find the abstract here: [external link] … (unfortunately, you have to be a paying subscriber to Science to see the whole article). This paper presents strong evidence that that sea levels could rise 70 feet or more unless we reduce greenhouse gas emissions drastically. Now, how’s *that* for a way to start your essay? And this is not a Greenpeace scare-piece — this was written by researchers at UCLA, CalTech, and Cambridge University, and it was published in one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world. Be sure to emphasize that in your essay — emphasize the fact that you are using the latest peer-reviewed science, not “alarmist scare pieces”.If you listen to the anti-AGW cranks here, you’ll risk getting an F. Stick to reputable sources like the National Academy of Sciences and the journal Science and you can’t go wrong. If your teacher disputes anything in your essay, tell him/her that you got the information from the National Academy of Sciences and from one of the most prestigious peer-reviewed scientific journals in the world.
